Windows Server 2003
Enterprise Edition

Microsoft Windows Server R2 Enterprise Edition is the premier platform for business-critical applications. Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition builds on the standard features found in the Windows Server 2003 R2 family by adding features designed to increase the reliability scalability, security, and manageability of enterprise applications. This paper provides an introduction to the major technical features in Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition and discusses the application of those features to mission-critical applications, such as e-mail, databases, and business applications.
Windows Server 2003
Standard Edition

Designed for departmental and standard workloads, Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition, delivers intelligent file and printer sharing, more secure Internet connectivity, centralized desktop policy management, and Web solutions that connect employees, partners, and customers. Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition, provides high levels of dependability, scalability, and security.
Windows Server 2003
Web Edition

Designed for dedicated Web serving and hosting, Windows Server 2003 Web Edition, delivers a single-purpose solution for Internet service providers, application developers, and others who use or deploy specific Web functionality. Windows Server 2003 Web Edition, takes advantage of improvements in Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0, Microsoft ASP.NET, and the Microsoft .NET Framework to make it easier to build and host Web applications, Web pages, and XML Web services.
Windows Server 2003
Datacenter Edition

The Network Access Quarantine Control feature of Windows Server 2003 delays normal remote access to a private network until the configuration of the remote access computer has been examined and validated by an administrator-provided script. This paper describes the components of Network Access Quarantine Control, how it works, and how to deploy it using Windows Server 2003 remote access servers, the Connection Manager Administration Kit, and, optionally, Internet Authentication Service.

Windows 2000
Advanced Server

Windows(r) 2000 Advanced Server operating system contains all of the features and functionality of the standard version of Windows 2000 Server, plus additional features for organizations that require higher levels of scalability, reliability, and availability.Windows 2000 Advanced Server is ideal for line-of-business and e-commerce applications, where scalability and high availability demands are most critical.Windows 2000 Advanced Server provides integrated system scalability through enhanced symmetric multiprocessing (hardware scaling, or scaling up). As well, the two Windows Clustering technologies -- Cluster service and Network Load Balancing -- contribute added availability and multi-system scalability (software scaling, or scaling out ).Combined with relatively inexpensive PC hardware, Windows 2000 Advanced Server gives organizations a powerful and scalable alternative to more expensive proprietary solutions.
Windows 2000
Datacenter Server

Windows 2000 Datacenter Server is Microsoft's operating system for the most demanding levels of availability and scalability. Delivery of beta 2 to qualified Datacenter Server hardware vendors enables them to provide a complete evaluation platform to beta and Joint Development Program (JDP) participants for high-end enterprise computing solutions, such as large dotcoms, application service providers, online transaction processing, enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management, data warehousing, enterprise messaging and server consolidation."The availability of beta 2 and the launch of the Datacenter JDP is a key milestone toward completing the validation of all the elements of the Windows Datacenter Program," said Michel Gambier, group product manager of Enterprise Server Marketing at Microsoft. "Working closely with our industry partners, beta and JDP customers, our objective is not only to test the operating system, but also the Datacenter Hardware Compatibility Test and services framework of the program."
